Most 4×4 matrix installations require a separate video wall processor — adding cost, rack space, and a second device to configure and control. The KanexPro MMX-4X4VW combines 4×4 HDMI 1.4b matrix switching with a video wall processor in one compact half-rack unit. In matrix mode it routes any of four sources to any of four displays. In wall mode it spreads a source across the screens as a 2×2, 4×1 or 1×4 wall. The RS-232 command table in the manual lists nine wall layouts in all, including 3×1, 1×3, 2×1 and 1×2.
