- The SP-1X8SL18G downscales 4K to 1080p automatically for 1080p displays. Each HDMI output supplies up to 5V 200mA for active optical (AOC) HDMI cables. Its HDMI input is HDCP 2.2 and its outputs are HDCP 1.4.
- Differences in the SP-1X8SL18G's replacement, the SP-HDMI1X8-18G: it also downscales 4K to 1080p on each output independently. Its EDID dial has 2 modes (COPY and AUTO). Power for AOC cables on its outputs is not specified, and an HDCP Active/Passive switch is not specified.
- Replacement power adapter for the SP-1X8SL18G: the KanexPro EXT-PSU4 (DC 12V, 1A, with a locking connector and interchangeable international plugs).
