8K 1×2 HDMI 2.1 Splitter with Auto Downscaling
KanexPro SP-HD1X28K 8K 1x2 HDMI 2.1 splitter with auto downscaling and HDR-to-SDR converting. 48Gbps, HDCP 2.3, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, 8-mode EDID.
Split one 8K HDMI 2.1 source to two displays with automatic downscaling and HDR-to-SDR conversion — enabling mixed-resolution environments without manual configuration. The KanexPro SP-HD1X28K delivers 48Gbps bandwidth and supports resolutions up to 8K@60Hz 4:2:0 12-bit and 4K@120Hz 4:4:4 12-bit. Its auto downscaling independently adjusts each output (8K→4K or 8K/4K→1080p) based on connected display capabilities, while HDR-to-SDR conversion ensures compatibility with legacy SDR displays. HDMI 2.1 and HDCP 2.3 compliant. Supports VRR, ALLM, QMS, QFT, and SBTM. Full HDR pass-through (HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG). Audio includes LPCM 7.1CH, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DTS:X. 8-mode EDID DIP switch for deterministic resolution control. Metal enclosure (95 × 68 × 18 mm, 177 g), 4.3W max, with USB-C service port for firmware updates.

Questions
- What HDMI and HDCP versions?
- HDMI 2.1 and HDCP 2.3.
- Maximum resolution?
- 8K@60Hz 4:2:0 12-bit and 4K@120Hz 4:4:4 12-bit at 48Gbps.
- What are the EDID DIP switch settings?
- 111=Copy OUT1 EDID (default), 110=4K60 2CH, 101-000=FRL 8K HDR with 2/5.1/7.1CH options at FRL12G and FRL10G rates.
- What power supply is included?
- 5V/2A multinational DC adapter (CE/FCC/UL certified). Max consumption is 4.3W.
- No signal on one or both outputs.
- 1) Verify Ultra High Speed HDMI cables (3m max for 8K). 2) Try different EDID DIP setting. 3) Power-cycle. 4) Check display resolution support.
- Downscaling not working.
- 1) Does not work with 8K DSC input. 2) Verify display EDID is being read (try DIP 111). 3) Power-cycle splitter and displays.
- Does this extract audio?
- No audio de-embedding. Audio passes through HDMI only. For audio breakout, use SP-1X2A8K.
- How does auto downscaling work?
- The splitter reads each display's EDID and independently downscales (8K to 4K, or 8K/4K to 1080p) per output.
- Does HDR-to-SDR conversion affect the HDR output?
- No. Each output is independent. An HDR display receives HDR; an SDR display receives converted SDR.
- What audio formats are supported?
- LPCM 7.1CH, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS:X, and DSD via HDMI pass-through.
