4×2 HDMI/USB-C 4K60 Seamless Presentation Switch with HDBaseT 3.0 Out (4K60 40m, 1080p 70m)
KanexPro SW-4X2PS-70M 4x2 4K60 seamless presentation switch: USB-C 60W PD, multiview, USB KVM, Dante audio, HDBaseT 3.0 out (4K60 to 40m, 1080p to 70m).
Four sources, two screens, one far display over a single CAT6A cable — with multiview, USB-C charging and KVM in a half-rack unit. The KanexPro SW-4X2PS-70M is a 4×2 seamless presentation switch. It takes four sources (2× USB-C, 2× HDMI) and sends them to two HDMI outputs at up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 (18 Gbps, HDCP 2.3). The HDBaseT 3.0 output carries the same picture as HDMI OUT 2; it is not a third independent output. Over CAT6A it reaches 40m at 4K60 4:4:4, or 70m at 1080p or 4K30, to the included receiver, which it powers by PoE. Multiview modes (PIP, PBP, Triple, Quad and Custom) show up to four sources on one screen. Each USB-C input carries DisplayPort Alt Mode video and audio, USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) data, 1G LAN and 60W charging. KVM switching with keyboard and mouse hotkeys runs at USB 3.2 at the switch; only USB 2.0 crosses HDBaseT to the receiver, so put USB 3.2 cameras and microphones at the switch end. The built-in audio DSP adds mixing, matrixing, a 31-band EQ, delay and Dante® 2×2 audio. Control it from RelayAV, KanexPro’s AV control app (each screen’s source, volume and mute, and blank or freeze a screen), or from the front panel, IR remote, RS-232, TCP/IP or the Web GUI. RelayAV runs inside the switch, so Control4, Crestron and RTI systems connect to the switch itself, and a change made anywhere comes back to all of them as feedback.
- Routes 2× USB-C and 2× HDMI sources to 2 HDMI outputs at up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 with HDCP 2.3 and 18 Gbps bandwidth
- Every layout on each output: Single, Dual left/right or top/bottom, PIP in any corner, Triple (left, right, top or bottom), Quad (left, right, top, bottom or square), Copy output, and 5 custom layouts
- USB-C inputs support DP Alt Mode A/V, USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps), 1G LAN passthrough, and 60W PD charging per port
- HDBaseT 3.0 output (mirrored with HDMI OUT 2) extends uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 up to 40m or 1080p/4K30 up to 70m via CAT6A
- USB 3.2 KVM switching with keyboard and mouse hotkey support; USB 2.0 extension to receiver over HDBaseT
- Built-in audio DSP with mixing, matrixing, 31-band GEQ, volume, delay, and Dante® 2×2 audio I/O
- CEC and RS-232 display power control; advanced EDID management (17 modes); 8 preset scenes
- Control via front panel buttons, IR remote, RS-232, TCP/IP (Web GUI) — included HDBaseT receiver with PoE
- Controlled from RelayAV, KanexPro’s AV control app: each screen’s source, volume and mute, and blank or freeze a screen; streaming boxes (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV) get their own
- RelayAV runs inside the switch: Control4, Crestron and RTI connect to the switch itself, and every change made anywhere comes back as feedback

Questions
- What USB speed does the SW-4X2PS-70M provide locally and at the remote HDBaseT receiver?
- The SW-4X2PS-70M offers USB 3.2 Gen 1 (up to 5Gbps) for local KVM and USB-C data, with 1Gbps Ethernet over USB-C. USB extended to the remote HDBaseT receiver is USB 2.0, so expect USB 2.0 speeds on devices connected there.
- What video standards and resolution does the SW-4X2PS-70M support?
- It is HDMI 2.0b, HDCP 2.3, and DP 1.4 compliant, supporting video resolution up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 with 18Gbps bandwidth and 8/10/12-bit color depth.
- What can the USB-C inputs carry besides video?
- Each USB-C input supports DisplayPort Alt Mode A/V up to 4K60 4:4:4, USB 3.2 Gen 1 data at up to 5 Gbps, 1G LAN passthrough, and up to 60W Power Delivery charging per port.
- How do I connect to the switch over RS-232, and what is a basic status command?
- Connect to the RS-232 CTL port (3-pin phoenix) via an RS-232-to-USB adapter at 115200 baud, 8N1, with commands ending in <CR><LF>. The same protocol is available over TCP/IP. Send 'status' to get a full device status report, or 'get power' to check current power state.
- How do I set a specific EDID mode on an input via RS-232?
- Use the command 'set input x edid y' where x is the input (0-4) and y is the EDID mode (1-17, covering Auto, Copy from Out1/Out2/HDBT, fixed resolutions like 4K60_444 or 1080P, PC resolutions, or User 1/2). Use 'get input x edid' to read back the current mode.
- How is the SW-4X2PS-70M powered and how much does the transmitter and receiver weigh?
- The transmitter runs on AC 100-240V 50/60Hz to DC 24V/8A (170W max), measuring 8.66 in x 8.66 in x 1.75 in (220 x 220 x 44.5mm) and weighing 3.92 lbs (1.78kg). The included HDBaseT receiver measures 5.51 in x 4.13 in x 0.85 in (140 x 105 x 21.5mm) and weighs 0.93 lbs (424g).
- What is included in the box?
- The package includes the 4x2 Seamless Presentation Switch (transmitter), an HDBaseT Receiver, an IR Blaster Cable (1.5m), an IR Wideband Receiver Cable (1.5m), 3x 3-pin and 3x 5-pin 3.5mm Phoenix connectors, 4 mounting ears, 8 machine screws, a 24V/8A desktop power supply with AC cord (1.5m), an IR
- There is no video on one or more displays. What should I check?
- Confirm Premium High Speed HDMI cables are in use; for 4K60 the cable length must not exceed 3m for HDMI or 40m for HDBaseT via CAT6A F/FTP. Check output enable status via Web GUI or the RS-232 command 'get output x enable', verify the output resolution matches the display or is set to Auto, and che
- My laptop's USB-C port shows no video. What should I check?
- Confirm the laptop's USB-C port actually supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode, since not all USB-C ports output video. Use a cable that supports both DP Alt Mode and USB 3.2, and check the input's EDID setting if the signal is still not detected.
- Why choose the SW-4X2PS-70M for a BYOD conference room?
- It consolidates two USB-C laptops and two HDMI sources into one switch with seamless multiview, USB 3.2 KVM, and Dante audio, while extending a mirrored output up to 70m over a single CAT6A cable to a remote display -- reducing rack hardware in a video conferencing room.
