The AVO-IP265HD-ENC distributes one HDMI source to an unlimited number of 1080p displays over the standard 1G network you already run. It is a compact metal-enclosure encoder that draws power over the network — PoE (802.3af Class 3, PD mode) means the source end needs no local adapter on a PoE switch — and it racks densely, up to twelve units in a 4U frame or eight in a single 1U. That makes it the right choice for signage, hospitality, education, houses of worship and operations centers, where reach, density and total system cost matter more than 4K. Riding a managed 1G switch, it supports point-to-point extension, signal distribution, multicast, distributed matrix switching and video wall up to 9×9, with H.265/H.264 compression that keeps each stream light enough to carry over an ordinary gigabit network. Streams are configured from the built-in Web GUI or a Controller Box, and the unit is controlled over RS-232 (pass-through and guest mode), TCP/IP, Web GUI and Controller Box, with LPCM 2.0 audio embedding and extraction. Paired with its companion AVO-IP265HD-DEC decoder, the system turns display expansion into an add-a-decoder job rather than a new matrix — the AVO-IP265HD-DEC decoder is sold separately.

- What video compression does the AVO-IP265HD-ENC use?
