UltraSlim HDBaseT receiver unit for point-to-point HDMI extension — accepts HDBaseT signal from a compatible transmitter and outputs HDMI to the display up to 230ft / 70m at 1080p or 130ft / 40m at 4K/30. The EXT-HDBT70MRX is HDCP 2.2 compliant and supports bidirectional PoH, RS-232, and IR pass-through, pairing with the EXT-HDBT70MTX transmitter or any compatible HDBaseT transmitter. The UltraSlim metal enclosure with mounting ears mounts cleanly behind displays or projectors without adding bulk. LED indicators for LINK, HDCP, and Power give instant status at the display end. Sold as RX unit only — transmitter sold separately.
Questions
- What power supply does the EXT-HDBT70MRX receiver use, and can I buy a replacement?
- The EXT-HDBT70MRX uses a 24V 1.25A adapter. The matching KanexPro spare is the EXT-PSU2, which plugs straight into the receiver's power jack and is sold separately.
- What transmitter does this pair with?
- The EXT-HDBT70MTX is the matching KanexPro transmitter. Also compatible with other HDBaseT transmitters using the same standard.
- Does this support 4K/60?
- No. Maximum is 4K×2K@30Hz at up to 130ft / 40m. For 4K/60 support see EXT-4KHD150M2.
- Does this RX need its own power adapter?
- Not necessarily. PoH allows the paired TX to supply power to this RX over the Cat cable. If the TX is not PoH-capable, connect the 24V/1.25A adapter to this RX directly.
- Can I mount this behind a display?
- Yes. The UltraSlim profile (0.64" / 16.2mm height) and included mounting ears make it ideal for behind-display or projector mounting.
- What cable is required?
- Straight-through Cat5e or Cat6a, T568B terminated on both ends. Shielded cable is recommended. Total run including patch cables must not exceed the rated distance.
- LINK LED is blinking — what does that mean?
- Blinking LINK indicates an abnormal or poor connection. Check the Cat cable termination and verify there are no sharp bends, damage, or excessive length.
- No HDMI output from the display port?
- Confirm the HDBT IN is connected to a powered, active transmitter. Verify LINK LED is solid green. Check that the display is set to the correct HDMI input.
