No Signal on an Output

  1. Verify the output card is fully seated in the chassis slot — remove and re-seat if uncertain.
  2. Confirm the source is active and outputting video to the input card.
  3. Check the routing assignment in the web GUI — confirm the correct input is routed to the output port.
  4. Verify HDCP handshake: source and display must both support the same HDCP version. Test with a non-HDCP source to isolate.
  5. Check EDID assignment — incorrect EDID can prevent the source from outputting. Reassign or use the default EDID profile.
  6. For CATx outputs: verify the CAT receiver (FLEX-CATRX) is connected, powered via PoC, and within the 70m cable distance limit.

Card Not Detected by Chassis

  1. Power down the chassis before inserting or removing cards.
  2. Re-seat the card firmly — the card must be fully engaged with the backplane connector.
  3. Confirm the card type is compatible with the chassis slot (input slots accept input cards only; output slots accept output cards only).
  4. Check the chassis firmware version — update if a newer card type requires updated firmware.

Video Wall Layout Incorrect

  • Confirm all output cards assigned to the video wall group are routing to the correct physical display positions.
  • Verify bezel compensation values — incorrect values cause image misalignment between panels.
  • Ensure all displays in the wall are the same model and resolution for consistent output.
  • Re-apply the video wall configuration in the web GUI after any card or cabling change.

HDBaseT / CATx Output No Signal

  • Confirm CAT6a cable is used — CAT5e may work but is not recommended at full 70m distance.
  • Verify the FLEX-CATRX receiver is powered via PoC from the FLEX-CAT12OUT card.
  • Test with a shorter cable to rule out cable length or termination issues.
  • Check that the RJ45 connectors are terminated to T568B standard at both ends.

Scaling Output Incorrect Resolution

  • Verify the EDID profile assigned to the output port matches the display’s native resolution.
  • Manually set the output resolution in the web GUI per-output scaling controls.
  • If the display supports multiple resolutions, lock the output to the native resolution to prevent auto-negotiation issues.

FAQ

Can I mix HDMI and CATx output cards in the same chassis?

Yes. The FLEX chassis supports mixed card configurations. You can install HDMI output cards (FLEX-HDMI12OUT) and CATx output cards (FLEX-CAT12OUT) in different output slots simultaneously.

Can I expand the system after initial installation?

Yes. The FLEX-MF8X10 chassis can be expanded by adding additional input and output cards up to its maximum slot capacity. The system scales from 8×10 up to 24×60 across the chassis family.

Do I need an external video wall controller?

No. Video wall functionality is built into the FLEX chassis — no external controller hardware is required.

How many video wall displays can the system support?

The FLEX-MF24X60 supports up to 60 outputs, all of which can be used in video wall configurations depending on the layout selected.

What control systems are supported?

RS-232, TCP/IP, and a REST API. Compatible with Crestron, AMX, Savant, Control4, and any control system supporting TCP/IP or RS-232 drivers.

What is PoC on the CATx output card?

Power over Cable (PoC) delivers power from the FLEX-CAT12OUT output card to the FLEX-CATRX receiver through the CAT cable — no separate power supply is needed at the receiver end.
