MMX-4X4-48G: 48Gbps Matrix with Per-Output Downscaling
The MMX-4X4-48G routes four HDMI 2.1 sources to four outputs at up to 8K, downscaling and breaking out audio on each output independently.
The MMX-16X16AUD is a 1U, 18 Gbps 16×16 HDMI matrix switcher. It sends any of 16 HDMI 2.0b sources to any of 16 displays at up to 4K2K@60Hz (4:4:4). Every output also has its own coaxial audio output, so each zone can feed a soundbar or amplifier directly. It is built for integrators running large multi-display AV systems where sources, displays and audio zones need to be routed independently.
Applies to: MMX-16X16AUD
The matrix accepts 16 HDMI inputs and drives 16 HDMI outputs, with 18 Gbps bandwidth on every port. It complies with HDMI 2.0b, HDCP 2.2/1.x and DVI 1.0, so protected content can be routed across all input and output channels. HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG pass through with their HDR metadata intact. Colour depth is 8-bit, 10-bit or 12-bit, in RGB or YCbCr 4:4:4 / 4:2:2 / 4:2:0. Each output has its own independent 4K-to-1080p downscaler, so 4K sources and 1080p displays can be mixed in the same system.
HDMI audio passes through untouched, including LPCM 2/5.1/7.1, Dolby Digital, DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital+, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Separately, each of the 16 coaxial RCA outputs de-embeds audio on its own. The coaxial outputs carry LPCM 2.0, Dolby Digital / Plus and DTS 5.1.
With ARC, audio from a connected display comes back over the HDMI output and leaves the matrix on that output's coaxial port. This means a soundbar or amplifier can play audio from the display itself, as well as from the routed source. ARC is set per output and is off by default. You can turn it on from the Web GUI Output page or over RS-232. For example, s hdmi 2 arc 1! enables ARC on output 2.
There are five ways to control the matrix: the front-panel OLED, the included IR remote, RS-232 (D-Sub 9), TCP/IP (RJ45) and the Web GUI. The RS-232 port runs at 115200 baud, 8N1, and every command ends with a ! delimiter. For example, s in 3 av out 5! routes input 3 to output 5. The default routing mode is Point-to-Point. You can save up to 8 routing presets with s save preset z! and recall them with s recall preset z! (z = 1-8). CEC passes through the matrix.
Smart EDID management offers 39 modes: 21 factory presets, 2 user-defined modes and 16 copy-from-output modes. EDID can be set from the front panel, over RS-232 or in the Web GUI.
At 4K60, the specified HDMI cable length is up to 16 ft / 5m. Longer runs are only specified at lower resolutions, and each is listed with its own resolution in the table below. Plan cable runs against the highest resolution the system will carry.
The unit has a black metal enclosure measuring 440mm (W) x 200mm (D) x 44mm (H) and weighs 3.1 kg. Mounting ears for a 1U rack are included. It runs from an AC 100-240V 50/60Hz to DC 24V/3.75A adapter and draws 76.8W. The box also contains an IR remote, an RS-232 cable (1.5m, male to female) and the product manual.
