Overview
Video wall mode distributes a single source image across multiple displays arranged in a grid, with each decoder rendering its assigned portion of the image. This is a feature exclusive to the JPEG2000 codec family and the AVO-IPCTL-JP2K controller.
Requirements
- JPEG2000 encoders and decoders (AVO-IPJP2K, AVO-IPJP2KS, or AVO-IPJP2KD)
- AVO-IPCTL-JP2K IP Controller
- Managed 1G switch with IGMP snooping and MTU 9000 enabled
Supported Layouts
- 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, up to 9×9 (81 displays)
- Custom grid layouts and mixed configurations
Configure Video Wall in the Controller
- Open the AVO-IPCTL-JP2K web GUI and go to Video Wall.
- Click New Wall and select a grid layout (e.g., 3×3).
- Drag each decoder into its grid position. Match the position in the editor to the physical position of the display in the wall.
- Enter bezel compensation values: measure horizontal and vertical bezel width in millimeters.
- Select the encoder source to display on the wall.
- Click Apply. Each decoder immediately renders its assigned portion of the image.
Bezel Compensation
Bezel compensation crops the image behind each display’s physical bezel, so the image appears continuous across all panels. Measure the inner bezel width (the black border between panel content areas) in millimeters — not the outer frame.
Switching Sources on a Video Wall
To change the content displayed on the video wall without reconfiguring the layout, use the controller GUI or REST API to route a different encoder to the wall group.
