USB-C Connectivity
All KanexPro Huddle Room and Presentation switchers accept USB-C input with DisplayPort alt mode video. The USB-C port is plug-and-play — no drivers required on Mac, PC, or Chromebook.
USB-C Requirements
- Use a USB-C cable that explicitly supports Thunderbolt 3/4, USB4, or DisplayPort alt mode. Standard USB-C charging cables do not carry video.
- For 4K60 4:4:4, use a cable rated for 40Gbps (Thunderbolt 4/USB4) or a certified DisplayPort alt mode cable.
- Maximum recommended cable length: 1m for passive cables; use active cables for longer runs.

USB KVM
USB KVM shares connected USB peripherals (keyboard, mouse, webcam, speakerphone, flash drives) with the active source. When the input switches, USB access transfers to the new active source automatically.
- Connect shared peripherals to the switcher’s USB 3.2 host port.
- The active source gains full USB 3.2 bandwidth to all connected devices.
- Manual KVM switching is available via front panel button independent of video switching.
Balanced Audio
All Huddle Room and Presentation switchers include balanced audio I/O. Balanced connections (XLR or TRS) reject common-mode noise over long cable runs and are standard in professional AV installations.
- Input: Accept balanced line-level audio from external sources (microphone preamplifier, DSP, audio interface).
- Output: Send balanced line-level audio to amplifiers, DSP processors, or ceiling speakers.
- Audio follows video switching automatically or can be de-embedded independently.
Dante Audio (SW-xPS Series)
The SW-4X2PS-70M and SW-5X1PS-70M include a dedicated Dante network audio port.
- Connect the Dante port to the managed network switch (on a dedicated Dante VLAN recommended).
- Use Dante Controller software (free from Audinate) to route audio channels to any Dante-enabled device on the network.
- Dante and the main LAN/HDBaseT network are kept on separate physical ports to prevent interference.
Audio De-embedding
HDMI audio from connected sources is automatically de-embedded and available at the balanced analog output and Dante port simultaneously. No additional configuration is required for basic audio output.
